How has COVID-19 Pandemic impacted Forgotten Soldiers Outreach?

In order to comply with CDC Guideline and those of our local government, we are working with fewer volunteers ( due to social distancing), wearing facial coverings, and getting used to the “New Norm” of how we can continue to accomplish our mission to ensure that our troops are not forgotten.   Our warehouse floors are specifically marked with “X” for individual work stations, we only allow up to 6 volunteers at any one time.

We have had to reconfigure some of our ways to pack, but it works!

However, the biggest impact has been that now we are extremely LOW on care package items. With schools and businesses closed since mid-March,  collection drives have been slim to none, therefore we are in serious need of care package items. This is the lowest we have ever been in our 17 years.

Our complete list of items can be found on our website https://www.forgottensoldiers.org/ways-to-help/package-items-list/

Comments from several recipients have been:  “These items really help us as we have limited resources due to the COVID crisis.”
